Q: What is your early inspiration of doing science?
A: The beauty of Science written in the book.
Q: Do you have any scientific hero(es)? If so, how did he/she inspire you?
A: James Clerk Maxwell.
The elegance and simplicity of Maxwell equations, which are still very useful in our daily life.
Q: What is the best advice that you have received?
A: Look forward, to chase hot topics.
Look backward, to solve the longstanding challenges.
So, do not forget to look backward.
Q: What is your greatest achievement so far?
A: The finding of superlight inverse Doppler effect.
This finding breaks the long-held tenet that the inverse Doppler frequency shift is impossible in homogeneous positive-index systems.
Q: What is your research goal?
A: Exploration of novel-type nanophotonic particle detectors, with high sensitivity and small size, and on-chip THz/X-ray free-electron radiation sources.
Q: What is the best part of your job?
A: Keep learning, and have the chance to discover some fundamental rules which have never been reported before.
Q: Would you like to share with us some of your unforgettable experience?
A: Being working on a single paper for around 3 years. This process was very exhausted and with high pressure. But finally I succeed to get it published, just before I almost give it up.
