On May 22, Michael Levitt, 2013 Nobel Prize laureate in Chemistry and Vice Chairman of World Laureates Association, attended opening ceremony of Shanghai Science Festival 2021.

Guests invited to walk the red carpet include Shuhua YE, member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Zhiqiang SHEN, Director of Shanghai Astronomical Observatory, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Chief of the VLBI Division, and Wenhong ZHANG, an infectious disease expert.

Shanghai Science Festival was launched in 1991 with the main venue located at Shanghai Science and Technology Museum. The Festival is committed to spreading scientific knowledge and scientific thoughts, advocating scientific spirits and scientific methods, improving general public's scientific attainments and creating a good social atmosphere for people to love science and innovation.
